The volunteers in the Religious Education Program are Catholic Christians committed to witnessing and sharing the faith with the adults and children of our parish community. Through the various Religious Education Programs, the message of Jesus Christ is heard in a parish setting with Christians who worship and serve together as they lovingly respond to God’s call and their life-long relationship to Christ and the Church.
The goals of the Religious Education Program are:
Order of Christian Initiation for Children
The OCIC Program provides Religious Instruction for children ages 7-13 who have not been baptized or have been baptized and have little or no previous religious instruction.
OCIA students begin sessions in September to prepare for the Sacraments of Initiation - Baptism, Confirmation, and Eucharist - which take place during the Easter Vigil Liturgy. Students are also expected to take part in the OCIC Rites and Scrutinies.
Order of Christian Initiation for Adults
The OCIA Program provides Religious Instruction for teens 13+ and adults who are interested in becoming Catholic.
OCIA members begin sessions in September to prepare for the Sacraments of Initiation - Baptism, Confirmation, and Eucharist - which take place during the Easter Vigil Liturgy. OCIA members also take part in the OCIA Rites and Scrutinies.
