The Eucharist we celebrate urges us and empowers us to participate in the mission of Jesus Christ to proclaim the Kingdom of God present in our world. In participating in this mission, we imitate the example of the Teacher, who “came not to be served, but to serve.” These are the ministries of service to the parish community:

PASTORAL COUNCIL

This group meets on the second Wednesday from September to June, and is responsible for the spiritual development and growth of the parish community. Working with the Pastoral Staff, the Council sets goals and reaches a consensus on how to best implement these.

Chairperson: The Honorable Judge Thomas Elwell email: tjelwell@adelphia.net

BUILDINGS AND GROUNDS COMMITTEE

"GREEN THUMBS"

Chairperson: Ed Klimczak - email: klimy@stpeterlorain.org

WELCOME COMMITTEE

This group welcomes new members to the parish community to acquaint them with parish life and activities. Friendly, creative people are needed!

PARISH FESTIVAL

The first weekend of August, the parish community celebrates a three-day festival, with food, rides, games, music, dancing, and activities for all. The festival depends on the commitment of many volunteers, and is organized by a committee that meets throughout the year.

Chairperson: Ed Klimczak - email: klimy@stpeterlorain.org

SPIRITUAL LIFE COMMISSION

This group plans and develops programs and events that will help in the spiritual growth of the parish, WITH AN EMPHASIS ON FAITH MEETING LIFE. Volunteer members work together to create and organize such things as prayer groups, faith sharing opportunities, adult education sessions and then help to bring them to fulfillment. The commission works with already existing organizations to foster spiritual growth. Creative and inspired volunteers are needed to help plan and organize the work of the commission.

Chairperson: Paul Csizmadia - email: paul.csizmadia@lambtechsys.com

HOLY NAME SOCIETY

This group is open to all men and women of the parish, and is dedicated to the spiritual development of its members and service to the parish community. The group meets on the second Sunday of each month at 9:00 Mass, with a meeting afterward.

Chairperson: Tony Campana - email: tcampana@firstfedlorain.com

STEWARDSHIP COMMITTEE

Stewardship is not simply making donations or taking care of the building and grounds. It is a spirituality--hence a way of life--made of four parts:

Receiving the gifts of God with gratitude

Cultivating them responsibly

Sharing them lovingly in justice with others

Standing before the Lord in a spirit of accountability

It is up to you to determine how you will live out this stewardship way of life. You will not be alone, however. Millions of fellow Catholics are traveling together with you. The Stewardship Committee needs all who are committed to our parish. Please indicate your interest in one or more of the parish committees and you will be contacted.

Chairperson: Sr. Annamae Murphy - email: amurphy@stpeterlorain.org
