The volunteers of the Religious Education Program are Catholic Christians committed to sharing their faith with the adults and children of our parish community. Through the various Religious Education Programs, they help others hear the message of Jesus Christ in a parish setting with Christians who worship and serve together as they lovingly respond to Gods call and their life-long relationship to Christ and the Church. If you need information or wish to volunteer for a program, call 440-282-9337.

Sacraments NEW SACRAMENTAL POLICIES: Religious instruction in both Grades One and Two is required for First Communicants, and religious instruction in both Grades Seven and Eight is required for Confirmation Candidates. The completion of absent assignments and Sunday Mass attendance is also required. Students will return to the regular PSR sessions after the reception of the sacraments. Preparation for the sacraments of Initiation (Baptism, Confirmation, and Eucharist) are separate, parish-centered programs normally associated with readiness at a particular grade level, though the reception of the sacraments is optional and requires a purposeful decision to enter the program. BAPTISM Children who were not baptized as infants enter the Catechumenate, a process that prepares children over the age of seven to become members of the Catholic Church. When a child is ready to be baptized, the parish deacon, who coordinates the Baptismal Program, is contacted and a date for the childs baptism is arranged. EUCHARIST Ordinarily, Second Graders prepare for First Communion because the catechesis for Reconciliation and Eucharist is presented in the "Christ Our Life Series" at their grade level. Older children are placed at their grade level in the Program, but also participate in the Catechumenate Program of ten extra sessions. If parents perceive a lack of readiness in their child, they may defer the celebration of these sacraments.
Communal Celebrations of First Reconciliation are held two Saturdays in February. Group Communion is scheduled for the first Sunday in May and Family Communions are celebrated at weekend Masses after Easter usually beginning the last weekend of April.
