Summary of Parish Council Minutes
December 12, 2007

Centennial
Council received the resignation of Peter Grasso as chairperson of the centennial committee as well as from council. Council will seek perspective replacements.

Anna Grasso continues to make plans for the new parish directory. she also suggested a DVD with long-time parishioners sharing their memories.

Commissions and Organizations
Council will schedule invitations to various commissions and organizations to acquaint council with their activity. The first to attend will be Ruth Smith on behalf of the St. Francis Mission Group.

Parish Clustering
At last month's meeting of the representatives of the seven parishes in our cluster, the financial and physical states of each parish were shared. The parishes are all financially solvent and in good physical condition.

Capital Campaign
Council requested to stay informed and updated each month as to the strategies and progress of the campaign.

REPORTS:

Stewardship
The response to the giving tree project was overwhelming. Hospitality Sunday, involving council, is scheduled one Saturday/Sunday a month.

School
CATHOLIC SCHOOLS WEEK will be observed from January 27th through February 3rd. There will be an Open House and Registration on February 3rd from 9:30 AM to 1:30 PM.

Parish School of Religion
PSR students and families collected food and toys for those in need. Confirmation will be celebrated on February 10th.

Spiritual Life
Advent pamphlets were distributed at the Masses, and children were given holy cards for Christmas.

RCIA
Continues to meet on Wednesday evenings.

Liturgy/Worship
The need for a railing was discussed to help Eucharistic ministers/lectors go up and down the sanctuary steps.

A water heater is needed under the sacristy sink.

Finance
A report is to be included in the Dec. 15-16 bulletin. The CATHOLIC CHARITIES APPEAL is scheduled for the last week in January and the first three weeks in February.

The January meeting is scheduled for Wednesday, January 9th.
