Junior High Parish School of ReligionCatechesis is a key component of any ministry with youth. Our faith reaches awesome expression in the teachings and traditions of our church, handed down from age to age. Parents are the primary religious educators of their children, not so much through explicit doctrine as through an example of a living discipleship to Jesus – faith is not taught but caught! The role of the parish is to reinforce their lived witness to the impact of Jesus on their lives through instruction in the ways our faith has been understood by Christians throughout the last two millennia. In Junior High PSR we take a less classroom-oriented than in earlier grades. We attempt to engage a child’s developing cognitive and social abilities through group activities, discussion, and interaction. We will still expect students to attend every class and we will assign homework. Classes begin with the Open House in early September.
